Hospitality

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Romans 12:9-13
Welcome!
The purpose of MEFC's Hospitality Ministry is to help our guests and faith family feel the love of God by truly welcoming them into our church facility through friendly and authentically gracious service. From the moment you pull into the parking lot and throughout your experience, our goal is that you feel noticed, cared for and like you matter.

Greeting

We understand how uncomfortable being in a new place can be for some people. Greeters provide the first contact at the front door (rain or shine); they set the standard with a smile and warm greeting. Just outside the sanctuary doors, ushers are the second point of contact as they handout bulletins and assist with anything needed.

Fellowship

Between the Sunday morning worship service and Bible Fellowship time, the Hospitality Team hosts refreshments in the Fellowship Room. Volunteers help serve hot coffee and yummy cookies or another special treat. The church buzzes with the conversation of new and old friends.

Consulting

One of the many roles of MEFC's Hospitality Ministry is to serve as consultants for the rest of the church by making suggestions for the ministry or physical plant of the church in regards to how things can be more welcoming. This includes hosting special events like church picnics that allow for families to connect with one another. In all that we do, our desire is that people will come back repeatedly, and for those without a home church will make MEFC their home.

Cookies 'n christ

Cookies 'N Christ is a series of baking classes that take place at the church kitchen. The purpose is to provide an opportunity to learn baking techniques from experienced bakers, create a unique time of fellowship, and supply treats for Sunday morning fellowship time. Each person who attends will take 1 dozen cookies home while the rest go to the church. The classes are limited to 12 - 14 people and does require interested attendees to sign up in advance (view and sign up for upcoming classes to the right).
