Worship

1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. 3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100

Worship at MEFC

At MEFC, our understanding of worship is that it is a whole life act and not just limited to  music during the church service (Romans 12:1-2). Our services do contain music, but it is intended to connect with the Biblical teachings to open our hearts in praise to Almighty God that resonates in all aspects of our lives. Thus, the lyrics of the songs are selected with very careful consideration and is intended to mesh with the pulpit teaching. Our team leaders study scripture to be taught to understand context of God's character in the passage before selecting any songs.
Since the focus of our musical worship sessions at MEFC are lyrically focused, many different musical styles are present. Contemporary worship songs are done right along with traditional hymns. The leaders do not plan to incorporate a variety of themes each week but it does happen frequently. Thus, those who attend and participate regularly find that they can experience a style in which they resonate. Piano, electronic keyboard, drums, guitar, and vocalists will frequently be used, however, it is not uncommon for a musical worship session to consists only of piano and vocalists only.

Worship Team leaders

To emphasize MEFC's dedication to worship being a part of all life, we do not have a full time worship pastor. Instead, we have multiple team leaders who are in charge of organizing sets and directing rehearsals. These team leaders all have families and full-time careers in which they experience what it is like to worship God daily outside of the church building.
